The sequences of stretches & movements taught in the class, will benefit all the muscles through your body including the core muscles and pelvic floor. Combining this with work on your posture, we can enhance the optimal foetal position which can lead to a shorter labour. Classes can help with common problems during pregnancy , such a back pain. Yoga postures can help to balance hormones and emotions which help you stay calm and in control.
Dru prenatal yoga is safe for any stage of pregnancy, modifying postures and sequences to suit each individual. However, if you have not practised yoga before, it is best to wait until you are 14 weeks before embarking on a yoga practice. If in doubt, please contact your medical practitioner or midwife.
The main focus of the classes is on relaxation, breathing and connecting with your baby. Take time out of your busy day to gently stretch, relax and have time for yourself whilst meeting other mums-to-be.
